🏠 iekura — Quick Start
A free barcode home-inventory app from Japan
What is iekura?
Point your camera at a product barcode and the item is registered to your home inventory instantly — with the product photo fetched automatically. Track pantry stock, collections, medicine, and emergency supplies. Free, no account needed, and your data stays on your device.
🌏 Works worldwide: the scanner reads EAN-13 / EAN-8 / UPC barcodes, and product names are looked up via the international Open Food Facts / Open Product Facts databases. It also works offline once loaded (great for basements and storage rooms). The app interface is currently in Japanese — this guide maps the buttons for you. English interface is on our roadmap.
How to register items (3 taps)
- Open the app and tap the green round button with barcode stripes (bottom-right).
- Allow camera access when asked (「許可」= Allow).
- Hold a product barcode in front of the camera. It vibrates and registers automatically. Hold the same product again to add +1 quantity. Tap the green 「✅ おわる」 button to finish.
Key buttons: 📷 写真で登録 = register by photo ・ 💾 保存する = save ・ ✏️ = edit ・ 🗑️ = delete ・ 🔍 = search your inventory
Tips
・ Add the app to your home screen from the browser menu for one-tap access.
・ Everything is stored locally in your browser — use 「💾 データのお守り」→ first button to download a full backup file.
・ Works in any modern browser: Chrome, Safari (iPhone), Edge.
